When you run a report, VizyReport sends real search queries to four AI providers and records the actual responses. We use phrases like "best coffee shop in Seattle" or "dentist near downtown Austin" and check whether your business name appears in what each engine says back.
We count how many times your business name appears across those responses, how prominently it's mentioned, and whether it's recommended over competitors. That becomes your score.
Our probes use each provider's API, which reflects what the model has learned about your business from its training data. Consumer apps (ChatGPT, Claude.ai, Gemini) also have live web search enabled, so their answers can differ from what we record — we measure a consistent benchmark over time, not a reproduction of every customer's individual screen. Perplexity, which uses a live-search model, most closely matches the consumer experience.
We generate 6 phrases (Starter) or 15 phrases (Pro) based on your business type, category, city, and the keywords you provide. These are the actual queries your potential customers type into AI engines.
Pro plan clients can provide their own keywords during onboarding. We use those directly, combined with AI-generated variations to fill out the full 15-phrase set.
For each search phrase we send to each engine, we check whether your business name appears in the response. We record a "found" or "not found" for every query-engine combination.
Your score is the percentage of total queries where your business was mentioned, weighted by how many engines found you.
Paid reports run 3 separate query passes and average the results for stability — AI responses can vary between queries, so averaging gives a more accurate baseline score.
